Fabulous 1940s Japanese crackle glazed porcelain desk lamp featuring a hand painted iridescent pink elephant with lucky upraised trunk, colorful blanket or jhul, and zen like rider on its original rectangular wood base. Marked on underside, Hand Paint, Made in Japan, TT. Lovely vintage clip-on parchment paper shade in soft pink and gold with chinoiserie scenes including a pagoda, bridge, boat, and cherry trees is included. The 'TT' logo stands for the Takito Company in Japan, from the Taisho and Showa periods (1921-1941).
